Fairy Tale Castles at the Dallas Arboretum – A Mother’s Day Treat

Our Princesses Had A Magical Time

Fairy Tale Castles at the Dallas Arboretum – A Mother’s Day Treat

As opposed to previous Mother’s Day celebrations, we opted out of the fancy restaurant brunch and spent the afternoon at the Dallas Arboretum. We were out of the house by 8 am and had breakfast at our local Corner Bakery. It was the perfect relaxed venue. I appreciated the fact that we didn’t have a lengthy wait for seats or for our food. The girls loved their muffins (I recommend their delicious pumpkin muffin); whereas, I savored their Anaheim Scrambler (scrambled eggs with oven roasted potatoes & toast) and my hubby enjoyed his panini (he’s not a fan of breakfast foods).

A few hours later, we made the drive over to the Dallas Arboretum to partake in their “It’s a Fairy Tale World”. It was beautiful day (though a little hot to our liking) and the perfect way to spend Mother’s Day. With most families spending their Mother’s Day at lengthy brunches, we were fortunate to find a small crowd (albeit there were the usual radiant brides and their bridal parties) at the Dallas Arboretum. Once we made our way around from the park entrance, we ran towards the first fairy tale castle we spotted, “The Little Mermaid” and posed for our share of pictures. We then made our way around and eventually visited: “Jack and the Beanstalk”, “Mufaro’s Beautiful Daughter’s”, “Beauty and the Beast”, “Aladdin, and “Rapunzel”.

Reading A Page Out of "The Little Mermaid"

Before leaving the kingdom (aka The Dallas Arboretum), we took a break from the heat by plotting ourselves under a shaded tree on a hill. We enjoyed the view overlooking the water while the girls ran barefoot on the grass.

If you’d like to take your prince/ princesses to this exhibit, be sure to do it before December 31, 2011. I would recommend bringing a small blanket to sit on, snacks and baby wipes (to keep those kiddos’ hands clean).

Beautiful View Overlooking White Rock LakeEnjoyed
