Check out some of the happenings around town on Valentine’s Day weekend. Reservations are needed in advance for most places. Prices range from $$ – $$$.

Bring your loved one to the Irving Arts Center and enjoy an intimate evening with the love songs of Elvis as performed by Nathan Belt. Also featuring FEVER, the ultimate tribute band. Cirque du Soleil – OVO (Frisco)
Enjoy an evening at the theater. Cirque du Soleil’s OVO is a headlong rush into a colorful ecosystem teeming with life, where insects work, eat, crawl, flutter, play, fight and look for love in a non-stop riot of energy and movement. For the more adventurous types, Moxley Manor Haunted House offers Blood, Chainsaws and Valentines. The haunted house will be open for one night only for those of you looking for an alternate way to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Saturday, February 12 from 7pm – 10pm. Admission is $12.00. Website

All Aboard! Ride on the Sweetheart Express this Valentine’s Day. Boarding the 1920s vintage coaches begins at 8 pm where guests kick off the evening with a complimentary glass of wine in their commemorative Sweetheart Express wine glass. Additional wines can be purchased from various Grapevine wineries at cash bars available on the train during the ride. The relaxing evening excursion will include romantic musical favorites. Tour local wineries with your significant other–perfect for wine enthusiasts and romantics to celebrate the holiday of love. Saturday, February 12 or Sunday, February 13 from 11am to 5pm. Tickets are $45 in advance; $50 at the door. Ticket Includes: three tastings at each winery, one large crystal wine glass, food samplings at each winery, and a premium bottle of Texas wine. In Dallas for the first time, Opaque is introducing a special, multi-sensual dining experience. The dining in the dark experience allows you to plunge into a world of sensitivity you have never experienced before, taking you through a journey of taste, sound and touch, all in the dark. Food is served by experienced visually impaired waiters who will guide you through the evening. Friday, February 11 through Monday, February 14 for dinner only. Enjoy a comedy show, dinner and champagne with Ad-Libs 24th annual Valentine’s Day Laugh-Lovers Package. Take a 30 minute airplane tour of Dallas with your significant other. Tours take off and return to Addison Airport. You can bring whatever you like on board to enhance your tour. Treat yourself and a loved one to a quiet, intimate balloon ride taking in the sights over Dallas and enjoy a champagne toast and horderves when you land. Prices vary from location to location and whether you choose a shared (4 people) or exclusive balloon ride. Actual ride is between 1 and 1/2 hours.
