Mine brought home four big bowls of candy. I enjoy eating it as much as they do and then I wonder why I don’t lose any weight. Not only do I need to eliminate the temptation, I’d also like to get my countertops back. I’m not into throwing food away or trading it to other people to throw away, so what’s a mom to do?
My favorite tip is to sneak a little candy out of the bowls each day. No, I’m not eating it – I pass it off to one of Santa’s helpers. I heard Santa uses the “extra” candy to fill stockings. I’m sure that would help Santa save a little time and money. The kids still get their candy, just not all in the same month.
If you want to do a little Santa impersonating yourself, hopefully with the whole family, bag up some candy care packages. You could ship them off to your favorite solder, college student, or save them to doorbell ditch your neighbors with a little pick me up when their candy is gone. This is a great activity to get your kids involved with showing gratitude for all they have by sharing it with others.
- Caramel Apple Cider Cookies from gimme some oven – We got a few caramels, but we have to buy more to make these – or raid my personal stash.
- Peanut Butter Chocolate Dessert from Taste of Home – Looks like a tasty way to use up those peanut butter cups, but I’ll need to buy some Oreos.
- Snickers Cupcakes from Annie’s Eats – These even have a homemade caramel sauce drizzled over the top of them.
Now that I gained five pounds from looking at pictures of these treats, I better go back to my plan of just getting it out of my house!
