International Sportsman’s Expo

International Sportsman’s Expo

So I know that I said I’d be writing for Utah County, and that I rarely go out of it. But…. here’s something you can do in Salt Lake County this weekend!

I also realize that this is probably something more for the guys than the gals or families but let me tell you why I am going:

They have baby bears! Ah, the cuteness! And (for a small $) you can hold one and get your picture taken with it. They did this last year too and I was sad to miss it because I only found out about it on the night of the last day.

So I’m pretty much going just so I can hold a bear and get a picture. That’s it. My husband is going for the fishing, camping, and etc. information. I actually don’t mind that though, since that means he’ll take me fishing, camping, and etc. and I have no problem with going out for some fun!

I assume they’ll also have lots of gun-type stuff which my hubby will also love to drool over, as any guy would.

The price to get in is $12 for adults and free for children 15 and under. But, if you go to their website, you can print coupons for $2 off each adult ticket. I don’t know what the cost is for the baby bear picture but I don’t think it’s too much. For more information, you can click on the picture above to go to their website.

So we’re going Friday night and when we get back, I’ll definitely update this post with pictures and the exact cost of holding the bear, for anyone who is on the fence about it!

There was so much to do and see at the ISE! I’ve never been to a conference that used the entire South Towne Expo center before. Along with what I wrote above, they had archery, fly fishing practice, a climbing wall, kids area, Dock Dogs, and so much more! It was so much fun to walk around and see everything there. For a small fee, anyone can participate in the archery and climbing wall.

And for those who might get “dragged” to this with their family, there is the Channel 2 news booth with armchairs to rest in while the family wanders the show. Or it’s great to just get off your feet for a few minutes!

Update to the Yellowstone Bear World baby bears: I found out that the cost was $15 to get a picture (a little higher than I expected) but if you bring your own camera, they’ll let you a bunch of your own so you can have digital copies along with the print that they give you! And they will allow up to 4 people into that picture for the single $15 cost. I definitely recommend it! It was so fun to hold that adorable baby!
