2013 Arizona Overnight Camps for Special Needs Children

It’s that time of year to start planning for your travels and camps for your kids

According to the America Camp Association your child needs camp for these reasons:

1.Camp forever changes your child for the better

2.Camp teaches your child to “move it, move it”

3.Camp keeps all that hard work from going to waste

4.Camp allows kids to take a deep breath and feel nature

5.Camp is fun.

I agree that camp is important to your child’s growth and whether you send them to an overnight camp or a day camp, they will always remember the fun and friends they made. Here are some of the overnight camps being offered this year for a variety of needs:

Arizona Camp Sunrise -This is the camp run by the American Cancer Society.

Camp AZDA -This camp specializes in diabetic children.

Camp Candlelight -This camp is sponsored by the Epilepsy Foundation of Arizona.

Camp Civitan-This camp is for the developmentally disable.

Camp Courage-This camp is run by the Arizona Burn Foundation.

Camp Cruz -This camp is run by the Arthritis Foundation.

Camp Honor -This camp is run by the Arizona Hemophilia Association.

Camp Not-A-Wheeze -This camp is run by the American Lung Association of Arizona.

Camp Paz for Kids -This is a camp for those children that are grieving.

Camp Rainbow– This camp is run by the Phoenix Children’s Hospital’s Center for Cancer and Blood Disorders.

Camp Samantha for Kids -This is another camp that is also for grieving children.

Camp Soaring Eagle -This camp is for children with life-threatening diseases.

Lions Camp Tatiyee -This camp is run by the Lions Club of Arizona.

REACH a Camp for Teens -This is a camp for grieving teens.

This is a great list of overnight camps that offer a chance to be with others going through the same things they are. Many of these camps have scholarships if your family cannot afford the camps. Have fun camping!
