The place had a very laid back and cozy feel. I totally got why the name “Hypnotic” is part of their store name. There was a laptop bar to the left of the display case. On the right, there were menu items written on the chalkboard. Unfortunately, since I arrived around lunchtime, there weren’t many donuts to choose from. I ended up ordering the chicken biscuit (much larger than I anticipated) and a half dozen donuts to bring back home and the office.
If you’re trying to eat healthy, this isn’t the place to go. However, since it’s a 40 min. drive from my house, I decided to indulge. The chicken sandwich was tasty. It was smothered in melted pepper jack cheese, whipped cream cheese and jalapenos.
My girls found the Boo! Bee! donuts pretty amusing even though they weren’t G Rated.
The next morning, my daughter and I found ourselves driving to Fair Park for the The Hypnotic Dash. From the parking lot, we heard loud music. We couldn’t wait to see what was in store for us. And, we weren’t disappointed.
We found ourselves in a heated facility with vendors and donuts! Immediately, we got in line to take pictures and donuts.
This was such a fun race. And for the first time, I heard giggles among the runners.
The kids replenished their energy with donut holes/ donuts along the way to the Finish Line.
Post-race, we stayed and watched runners compete in the Chubby Bunny Contest. We had no idea it was a competition to see who could stuff the most donut holes in their mouth. To say the least, it was amusing!
My daughter had a blast! She’s already expressed her desire to enter next year’s race.
