It’s not yard sale season yet but you can shop for some excellent bargains indoors at the Chickenkidz Consignment event. I spoke with Susan, the owner of this event, to learn more.
What is the ChickenKidz Consigment event?
It’s a HUGE event that happens just twice a year at the Riverhead Polish Hall. By now we have about 25,000 new and gently used children’s items that we sell and we bring in over 1,000 shoppers from all over Long Island. It’s a ton of fun for the Sellers who tag and price their items at their leisure and of course, for the Shoppers who have been known to wait in line before the doors open to get the best dibs.
When is it?
Our next sale is coming right up- the weekend of March 21st, 2014.
Where is it and what are the hours?
It is at the Riverhead Polish Hall in Riverhead and the hours on Saturday are from 9-4pm and from 9-3pm on Sunday. Many, many items are discounted by 50% on Sunday.
What are some of the items you offer? We sell clothes, toys, books, bikes, baby gear like strollers and pack and plays.
Anything else you’d like us to know?
If you’re coming to shop, wear sneakers and bring a snack (there is nothing more distracting from intense shopping then a grumbly tummy).
How can someone apply to be a seller at your next event?
