Welcome to Mama Teaches at Maven!

Welcome to Mama Teaches' new home on the Maven platform!

Hi friends!

Yes, you're in the right place! Don't worry, you didn't get redirected to some crazy site - we just switched to the Maven platform! From now on, you'll still be able to get all of the great content from MamaTeaches.com at our new URL of FamilyMaven.io/MamaTeaches! A little longer, but a whole lot better!

If you're new to Mama Teaches, find out more about our goals and mission here - and welcome!

Why the switch to Maven and what IS Maven anyway?

Maven is a coalition of amazing content creators who have banded together to provide readers with a safe space to interact, read, and share. Unlike "the site that shall not be named" (hint - it begins with an F and ends with a k....which is actually super ironic when you think about it...hmm), Maven sites don't filter out what you see based on what we think you should see - we give you the content to decide for yourself.

We also don't sell or give your personal data to analytics companies or categorize you by the types of friends you keep or articles you click on. That's just icky.

Instead? This is your safe spot online where you can express yourself, share your ideas, and belong to a community.

It's a lot like taking back the Internet and making it what we all envisioned it to be. That's a pretty cool thing to be a part of and that's why I'm so excited to have moved Mama Teaches to this platform.

So, how do I get around this place?

Great question! I made a couple of short videos for you to explain.

How to Create an Account at Mama Teaches on Maven and Why You'll Want To

How to Leave a Comment on Mama Teaches Articles

How to Start a Conversation, Ask a Question, or Share Your Blog Post Link

What do you mean I can leave a link to my blog post? Really? Because that seems weird.

It does seem weird, doesn't it? I mean, I'm asking you to leave a link back to your site while you're on my site. That goes against everything people have done, because no one gives free advertising or promotion of your blog posts these days!

Guess what? I do. We're trailblazers here, friends, and together we all rise.

Here's the thing, you probably have amazing content that my readers would love to see! That article on how to make the most delicious kid-friendly meal ever? Leave the link! The article about homeschooling high school? My readers would love that, so share it with them! The link to that adorable unicorn craft you did? Oh my gosh, post that link!

If you're still sitting there thinking, um, I don't know if it's okay to post my link...send me a message! You can use the little direct message button over on the left sidebar (it's the second button down) or email me at Brandi@MamaTeaches.com.

The only thing I don't want posted is advertisements for your sales or products. If you write a great post that mentions them, that's fine, but plain "come buy my stuff" links, no. Make sense?

Are there community guidelines?

Oh, yes. You can check them out here. Basically, be kind. And please don't post adult content or you'll be banned. ;)

Still have questions? No problem! Leave a comment below, send me a DM, or email me at Brandi@MamaTeaches.com. I'm happy to help and I am SO happy to have you here!

Hi Melanie!! Thanks! I'm so excited to be part of the coalition!

Thanks so much for sharing the resource!! It's so easy to get overwhelmed with worry when homeschooling!

It’s an interesting new platform. I’ll be looking forward to hearing how it goes for you. This is a link to a post about worries that interfere with homeschooling.
