What you need
1 Large bag of potpourri
2 cups Flour
1 cup Salt
1 cup Water
1 Tinfoil pie tin
Mix the flour, salt and water in a bowl and mix together. Roll out the dough into 1/8 inch thickness.
Lay this into the pie tin to form the base and trim the edges (just like making a pie). Or create just a pie top and use the tin to form the base.
Place some tin foil into the dish and mound it up to make it look like a full pie. Then using the left over dough create a lattice top by weaving strips.
Trim the edges and press together to secure.
Brush dough strips with butter and bake at 250 degrees for 30 minutes or until dry and pastry is hollow sounding.
Make sure the bottom is also dry – you can flip the pie to dry out the bottom for a few minutes.
You can also make this pie without the bottom base if it is to remain in its pie tin.
Once cooled spray with a clear varnish all over to preserve it.
Fill the pie tray with potpourri and pop the top back on.
