When you think of summer, often the next thought that comes to mind is bathing-suit season. If winter is the time for enjoying family and feasting on delicious foods, summer is the time to get back in shape and enjoy outside activities. The idea of getting back to a place where you feel comfortable in a swimsuit can be very daunting. Especially, when there are so many tempting summertime treats to indulge in.

Unfortunately, no magical potion will let you consume whatever you’d like and still maintain a bathing-suit-ready body. There are, however, some summer-time beverages and seasonal treats that will keep you looking and feeling body confident.

Protein Shake Ice Cream/Smoothie

As we all know, the quintessential summer treat is ice cream. There's nothing better on a hot summer day than a creamy ice-cold treat. Also, going as far as to squeeze your own juice such as orange juice or lemonade gives you the power to determine how much sugar is really necessary for you to enjoy the juice. Freshly squeezed orange juice is a fantastic source of vitamin c. Orange juice and other fresh fruit juices make the best healthy alternative to the average sugar-filled popsicle. You still get to enjoy a summertime staple with none of the guilt.

Fruit juice also freezes incredibly well in popsicle molds. After you have frozen your favorite fruit juice in the mold, directly run some warm water over the container and your popsicles are sure to pop right out!

The best part of summer is that all the juiciest and sweetest fruit is finally in season. Nothing depicts the perfect summer experience better than biting into a ripe piece of watermelon while sitting on the beach or hanging out with friends and family. Melons, peaches, and strawberries thrive during the summertime, and they are often passed up for the more sugar-filled foods.

Instead of going for the sugar-coated drumsticks or the artificially flavored jello, try reaching for the fresh, seasonal fruit instead. The natural sugars provided in fruit will satisfy the sweet craving just as well as a processed dessert would.
