Fall And Winter Activities For The Whole Family

Fall And Winter Activities For The Whole Family

You may think that when the summer comes to an end that your fun blended family quality time is coming to an end. Well, today I have some fantastic and fun things that you guys can do when the weather takes a turn for the worse.

Make The Most Of The Snow

If you are lucky enough to live in an area where it snows, make the most of it! While it is easy to complain about the snow. Remember snow is only here for a very short time and it is something kids love and a great way for you to make some lasting family memories. There is a ton of things you can do with the most obvious being things like having snowball battles and building snowmen. But you can also go sledding, build snow forts and just have a lot of fun pushing each other down in the snow.

Arts & Crafts Time

When you are stuck inside, it can be very easy for everyone to go and just do their own thing. But getting the arts and crafts supplies out is a great way for people to have fun together or at the very least make their own pieces of art, but be in the same room, communicating and having fun with each other. A couple of great family ideas that you can do are making your own board game or your own comic book. With these, everyone can contribute and feel like they are a part of it. It really can bring the whole family together and at the end of the day, you will have something you can cherish for a very long time.

Go Out For A Walk

Just because there is a bit of snow on the ground does not mean you have to be stuck indoors all winter long! Walking through the woods or the park in the winter can be a fantastic experience and give you a real appreciation for the area that you live. It is also a good way for you guys to get some exercise as a family.

Hit The Pool

Did you know that in the winter many swimming pools report that attendance is down? I have no reason as to why, but going swimming for the day is a great way to have a lot of fun. You get out of the house, have some exercise and best of all you guys have a lot of fun. Swimming is something far too many people never think about doing in the winter as it is seen as more of a summer activity. But if you are looking for an activity to get the kids excited then have a think about a good family swim, followed up by a family meal after… McDonald's while not always ideal, is a great way to finish off a family swim session.

Play Video Games!

Now some of you may be turning your nose up at this, but there is not a kid alive that does not love video games. Video games can be more than just a solo experience. I can tell you from personal experience that my family loves to play things like Mario Kart, Minecraft, Sonic and so much more. Find games that are made to be played by multiple people and I promise you that you guys will have just as much fun as you would if you were playing a board game!
